David Robertson
Memories of Barbara

Ralph David Robertson was born on New Year’s Eve 1949. He was the youngest of three children born to Ralph and Dot Robertson of New Richmond, Quebec.
David packed a lot of living into his all too brief seventeen years. He was fun-loving, a prankster, a big tease, and had many friends. He enjoyed telling ghost stories and more often than not, succeeded in terrifying himself as well as his listeners.
He loved spending time in the woods, camping, and canoeing on the river. He participated in a variety of sports and was an avid fan of country and western music. His more serious side showed him to be sensitive, compassionate, and kind. His surviving friends remember him very fondly.
It is ironic that, although David did not excel scholastically, he was accepted at a boys’ college in the Eastern Townships two days after his death. He died in a car accident with Stephen Holmes on Labour Day weekend, 1967. The Robertson Holmes Memorial Fund was established in their memory to assist other students in furthering their education.
